IT39670: BACKUP OF VIRTUAL MACHINE CAN FAIL WITH "ERROR OCCURRED WHILE ESTABLISHING A STOMP WEBSOCKET CONNECTION"

Error description

• After upgrading IBM Spectrum Protect Plus to v10.1.9, backup of
  virtual machine can fail with following error in job log:
  
  CTGGA2649,Backup of virtual machine (VM) vm-name has failed.
  Error: Error occurred while establishing a STOMP WebSocket
  connection.
  
  With 10.1.9, a WebSocket is now used to establish the
  bidirectional communication. If a WebSocket connection cannot be
  established for backing up a virtual machine, that virtual
  machine is marked as failed during backup.

Problem conclusion

• The WebSocket connection mechanism has been removed and replaced
  with the previous bidirectional Representational State Transfer
  (REST) mechanism that was used in 10.1.8 and previous versions
  of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus. This removes the possibility of
  WebSocket-based timeout errors occurring.
