APAR status

Error description

  • During copy backup operations either to vSnap or Cloud Object
    Storage the operation can fail with error message
    CTGGK3089 An unexpected error occurred during the backup. 'No
    Restic snapshot id received from data mover.' This error
    occurred while performing back up of PersistentVolumeClaim
    or error message
    CTGGK3090 The data mover for item {0} failed to report status
    for some time. The backup operation has timed out.
    
    During copy restore operations either from vSnap or from Cloud
    Object Storage the operation can fail with error message
    CTGGK3144 The data mover for item {0} failed to report status
    for some time. The restore operation has timed out.
    
    When looking in the command.log of the backup or restore job
    messages similar to the following can be found (here from an
    example of a failed restore operation):

Local fix

  • Rerun the copy backup operation or the copy restore operation
    until it is successful. As it is an intermittent problem
    typically the first rerun of the operations will be successful.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that messages CTGGK3089,
    CTGGK3090 and CTGGK3144 will only show up in case of real error
    situations like network issues or storage connection issues that
    cause data movement to fail or time out.
