APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Backing up a network CIFS share located in a Netapp or EMC
Isilon NAS from a Windows node, will report errors ANS4005E and
ANS1228E in the dsmerror.log if objects contain Romanian
special characters:

 ANS1228E Sending of object '\\test\test_h$\dir1\dir2\xxx'
  failed.
 ANS4005E Error processing '\\test\test_h$\dir1\dir2\xxx': file
  not found

IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
   All Client Versions 7.1 and 8.1 on Windows

Problem conclusion


    

  • The code has been fixed so currently the client allows to bypass
the issue with Romaninan symbols via the testlag  DONTUPPERCASE.
