Error description

  • If a JavaCompute node tries to cast a JMSMessage object to
    JMSTextMessage, JMSMapMessage, JMSBytesMessage etc, results in a
    CLASSCASTEXCEPTION.

    For example, 'JMSTextMessage inMsg =
    (JMSTextMessage)consumer.receive()' code generates following
    error message.

    BIP4367E: ( BKR12.default ) The method ''evaluate'' in Java node
    ''Java Compute'' has thrown the following exception:
    'java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.jms.JMSTextMessage
    incompatible with com.ibm.jms.JMSTextMessage'.

Local fix

  • Deploy the MQ JMS Jar file as part of the application.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    If a JavaCompute node tries to type cast a JMSMessage object to
    any of its subclasses - JMSBytesMessage, JMSMapMessage,
    JMSObjectMessage, JMSStreamMessage, JMSTextMessage,  a
    java.lang.ClassCastException is generated.

    For example, 'JMSTextMessage inMsg =
    (JMSTextMessage)consumer.receive()' statement inside a Java
    Compute node generates following error message.

    BIP4367E: ( BKR12.default ) The method ''evaluate'' in Java node
    ''Java Compute'' has thrown the following exception:
    'java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.jms.JMSTextMessage
    incompatible with com.ibm.jms.JMSTextMessage'.

Problem conclusion

  • The product no longer causes java.lang.ClassCastException while
    type casting JMSMessage to any of its subclasses.
