IT38626: DATA PROTECTION FOR DATABASES OR MAIL BACKUPS MAY FAIL WITH ERROR ANS1026E (RC136)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When Data Protection for Databases or Mail backup multiple
  Databases or Mail Servers the following error is reported :
  
  The following database is being backed up: 'DB01'. The data is
  being transferred to the IBM Spectrum Protect server.
  The following database is being backed up: 'DB02'. The data is
  being transferred to the IBM Spectrum Protect server.
  
  ANS1026E (RC136) The session is rejected: There was a
  communications protocol error.
  
  ACN5060E A IBM Spectrum Protect API error has occurred. Examine
  the Windows Event Logs and DSMERROR.LOG for additional details.
  
  The error is not generated if the Databases or Mail Servers are
  backed up one at a time.
  
  The issue is in the Spectrum Protect API code and how the
  session is  handled when multiple Databases or Mail Servers are
  backed up simultaneously using VSS method.
  A service trace on client side will show:

• Backup the databases or exchange servers one at a time

Problem conclusion

• The code has been fixed so currently the client correctly checks
  if the shared session is still OK.
