APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the "Apache Rewrite" or HTTP proxy
scenario, the connection may break in following situation:

    1. when putting or getting large messages
    2. when multiple applications are using same ipt route

The connection is closed by Apache or HTTP
proxy because of a protocol error and the
    application receives MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN (RC=2009).

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
MQIPT users who use MQIPT routes to accept HTTP data.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Incorrect serialization between MQIPT threads could cause the
response to a HTTP POST to be sent to the requesting MQIPT
before the HTTP POST is received by the responding MQIPT. This
could cause problems when there were load balancers or proxies
between the two MQIPT instances. Symptoms can include
MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN when an MQ client attempts to get a
message larger than 32KB, or when more than one client attempts
to get messages simultaneously using the same MQIPT route.

Problem conclusion

  • Serialization between MQIPT threads has been corrected to ensure
that responses to HTTP POST requests are only sent once the
    request has been received.
