Local fix

  • Ensure that function dist() from the Python module 'platform'
    can discover the OS information:
    1. Go to the Db2 application host and check the existence of
    file /etc/SuSE-release and what is inside. The platform.dist()
    expects to see the first line in this file in the following
    format:
    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 (x86)
    2. If the file does not exist or has another string in the first
    line*,* "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 (x86)" should be
    inserted at the very beginning of the /etc/SuSE-release.
    3. Run Python interpreter and call platform.dist():

     > python
    Python 2.7.18 (default, Mar 04 2021, 23:25:57) [GCC] on linux2
    Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more
    information.
    >>> import platform
    >>> platform.dist()

    The output should look like

    ('SuSE', '15', 'x86')

    distribution it is running on.
