Error description

  • IBM MQ ships the libedit libraries to provide generic line
    editing, history, and tokenization functions. This APAR updates
    this component to the latest available level.

Problem summary

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A secondary problem with the version of 'libedit' shipped with
    MQ 9.2.0.3 resulted in it incorrectly having library
    dependencies for the following libraries:
    
      libncurses
      libtinfo
    
    If these libraries were not available on the host system, then
    when the 'runmqsc' utility was run, the queue manager would
    report an error of the form:

    AMQ6175E: The system could not dynamically load the shared
    library
    '/opt/mqm/lib64/libedit.so'. The system returned error message
    'libncurses.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file
    or directory'.
    
    EXPLANATION:
    This message applies to UNIX systems. The shared library
    '/opt/mqm/lib64/libedit.so' failed to load correctly due to a
    problem with the
    library.
    ACTION:
    Check the file access permissions and that the file has not been
    corrupted.

    This problem has been resolved by this new update to libedit.
    

Problem conclusion
