Error description

  • The AMQ9504 error message incorrectly contains the text
    "Detected
multiple key resets" instead of the channel name associated with
    the protocol error:

AMQ9504E: A protocol error was detected for channel 'Detected
    multiple key resets'.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users who receive the error message AMQ9504 and need to
determine the name of the channel associated with the protocol
error will be affected by this problem.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When the IBM MQ code detects multiple SSL/TLS key resets then a
failure data capture (FDC) record with probe identifier CO373099
and an AMQ9504 error message are generated.

A message insert "Detected multiple key resets" is used to
explain to the user why the FDC record had been created. This
message insert is also used by the code which writes the AMQ9504
error log message and in that context the insert should have
    been a channel name:

    > mqrc AMQ9504

    536909060 0x20009504 rrcE_PROTOCOL_ERROR

    MESSAGE:
A protocol error was detected for channel '<insert one>'.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected so that the channel name associated
with the protocol error is used in the AMQ9504 error message.
Both the channel name and informational text inserts are written
    in the FDC output.
