IT38205: RESTORE VM FAILS WITH ERROR "YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS RIGHTS TO THIS FILE (EVDDK-13)"

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When performing a parallel streaming VM restore using the IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus VADP, the job fails with the following
  error in the Joblog:
  
  ERROR,<timestamp>,CTGGA2358,Failed copy VMDK files from proxy
  <proxy> for VM <VM name>. (You do not have access rights to this
  file (evddk-13))
  ERROR,<timestamp>,CTGGA1110,No selected item is recoverable.
  
  
  The VADP proxy will show:

   <timestamp> [I] <VDDK> VixDiskLib: VixDiskLib_Open: Cannot open
  disk [DataStore] targetVMname_disk/disk.vmdk. Error 13 (You do
  not have access rights to this file) at 6418.

Problem conclusion

• To fix this issue a VM snapshot is created before restore for
  all cases.
