IT37860: MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH EXISTING ALERTS AFTER STORAGE INSIGHTS MIGRATION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Pre-existing alert definitions in a custom alert policy may not
  be migrated properly.
  The following issues have been observed:
  
  - False positive ?status? alerts generated indicating a resource
  is ?not normal?. In reality, the resource is in normal state.
  This occurs during scheduled daily probes and miniprobes,
  potentially causing a flood of alerts for each resource. When
  the probe completes, the resources are correctly re-identified
  as being in a normal state.
  - Alert definition is missing Category information, e.g.
  Write-cache Delay Percentage is missing Node Category
  

Local fix

• A production side fix has been deployed, but if problems
  persist, the following workaround may resolve the issue:
  Edit and save the problematic alert definition after migration
  to properly re-create the alert definition.
