IT37838: INSTALLATION BY USING THE IBM INSTALLATION MANAGER GRAPHICAL WIZARD FAILS ON AIX WITH ERRORS "CANNOT LOAD MODULE.."

Error description

  • If the environment variable LIBPATH is not set to this value:
    
    export LIBPATH=/opt/freeware/lib:$LIBPATH
    
    (check with "echo $LIBPATH" )
    
    
    then the installation of the IBM Spectrum Protect server via the
    IBM Installation Manager graphical wizard launched by command
    "install.sh -g" will fail with the following errors:

Local fix

  • Before starting the  IBM Spectrum Protect software GUI installer
     set the LIBPATH environment variable by running:
    export LIBPATH=/opt/freeware/lib:$LIBPATH
    
    Then start the installer as usual:
    ./install.sh -g
