APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A long initial delay of several hours for copy to cloud
    operations can be seen using IBM Spectrum Protect Plus.
    The higher the amount of objects to protect the longer the
    delay will be.
    This can range from more than 20 minutes to many hours.
    Here is a 2,5 hours delay example between the two first
    messages seen in a job log for a copy to cloud of 112 VMs
    spread over 107 vSnap volumes :

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this issue is to reduce the number of remote calls
    enumerating the storage before beginning copy or archive job
