APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Storage Rule does not tier metadata for API
backups (Spectrum Protect for Databases, Spectrum Protect for
Virtual Environments, etc.), as noted in the IBM Spectrum
Protect server documentation:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/spectrum-protect/8.1.12?topic=tape-
determining-whether-tiering-is-appropriate

However, tiering to tape with ACTION=COPY should allow API
metadata to copy to tape. Currently, the storage rule does not
copy API metadata to tape.

IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
8.1.11 and higher on all supported platforms
