Error description

  • The runmqras utility does not collect a directory listing for
    the queue manager logs directory on IBM i
    
    The console.log shows the failure:
    Fri Sep 24 14:30:38 BST 2021:    QmIniFile:reached EOF
    
    Fri Sep 24 14:30:38 BST 2021:    Failed to get log directory
    from QM.ini, using default
    
    <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">The
    logfiles_QM.stderr file contains a message similar to the
    following:</span>
    <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">"Error found
    getting information for object /QM. No such path or
    directory."</span>
    

Local fix

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of MQ running runmqras on an IBM i platform.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Linux on Power

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When you ran runmqras on IBM i, the command that was used to
    find the log files failed to get the log directory from qm.ini
    because the qm.ini file did not store the log path on IBM i. As
    a result a logfiles_QM.stderr file would be produced containing
    the error message:
    "Error found getting information for object /TEST. No such path
    or directory."
    
    The runmqras utility incorrectly attempted to obtain the log
    file path from the qm.ini file, when the value from the mqs.ini
    file should have been used instead to locate the logs under
    qsys.lib.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The runmqras utility has been updated to use the correct path
    for log files on IBM i which is /qsys.lib/<qm_library>.lib.
