Error description

  • A File indexing warning for excluded guest file systems with
IBM Spectrum protect Plus can be seen in the following job log
    example :

    SUMMARY,<timestamp>CTGGA2399,Starting job for policy BACKUP

or more disks in the VM because the virtual
                        disks could not be identified.
Ensure that the disk.enableUUID property is
                        enabled in the VM options.

       INFO,<timestamp>,CTGGA0562,Skipping file catalog volume file
                        Index null ::: /dev/mapper/local-tmp

The message is misleading as the disk.enableUUID property is
enabled as required in the VM options.
Linux guests default file indexing exclusions are
    "/mnt/spp; /tmp; /usr/bin; /bin; /sbin"
The problem happens when the excluded file system is mounted on
    its own device.
Example for the above warning for /tmp :
    df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/mapper/local-tmp 10G 2GB 8G 25% /tmp

If the /tmp directory would have been included in the file
system for root '/', the warning would not be seen.
The issue affects any excluded from file indexing directory
    having its own file system.
This warning does not affect file indexing completion for the
    eligible other file systems.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.x
