Error description
When cancelling a PROTECT STGPOOL session on IBM Spectrum Protect server, the following messages can be seen from activity log on source server which indicates that the cancellation is impossible: timestamp ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command: CANCEL SESSION xxx (SESSION: xxx) timestamp ANR1901I The specified session is associated with REPLICAT E NODE process 0 and can not be cancelled. (SESSION: xxx) The SHOW THREAD (manually obtained during cancellation hang period or in a servermon data collection) output shows that the main thread for PROTECT STGPOOL is still waiting for work to be done (function ProdConsWaitWorkDone), but not recognizing that things have been cancelled and are being shutdown from a process perspective. Local fix
Recycle the IBM Spectrum Protect source server to clear up the affected PROTECT STGPOOL process

Problem conclusion
