Error description

  • Starting with IBM Spectrum Protect Server version 8.1.7, clients
can use the object agent to send data using the Amazon S3 client
    API.
Poor performance is observed for storing or retrieving data for
    HTTP PUT and GET operations.
This has been observed for IBM Spectrum Protect Plus copy to
cloud operations with the IBM Spectrum Protect Server defined as
a cloud repository but all clients using the Amazon S3 client
    API are impacted.
Looking to the server instrumentation output collected during
the client data transfer period, client sessions are observed
with unexpected high 'TM Lock Wait' times.
For each transaction the existence of the target filespace on
    the server is verified.
This verification duration can impact performance when numerous
sessions are needed to complete the backup/restore.

    IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.7 and later on all supported
    platforms

    Additional Keywords: TS006004407, SPP, offload
