Error description

• In case of a CPU down event MQ may report file operation error
  211:
  211 The CPU performing the operation failed during the operation
  AMQ6119 messages, reporting error 211, will show up in the
  var/mqm/error/AMQERR*.LOG files:

  AMQ6119: An internal IBM MQ error has occurred (Rc=211
  from read)
  FFST files will appear in var/mqm/error/*FDC as well, reporting
  the same problem:

  MQ recovers from that situation but during the time of
  recovery, connected applications and clients have to deal
  with failing MQ calls..
  

Local fix

• A local fix for this problem does not exist and is not needed.
  MQ receives error 211 due to a CPU down event and recovers
  without user intervention
  

Problem summary

• If the CPU of a disk process that processes a file operation
  goes down, the backup disk process has to take over file
  operation processing.
  Error 211 happens during a very small time window when the
  disk process backup takes over.
  In almost every case an immediate retry of the failed file
  system operation will be successful and eliminates the need
  for complex error handling in the higher layers of MQ.
