Error description

  • A cloud db backup to AWS S3 can fail with the following error
    reported:

    Additional errors will be reported until the the database backup
    process fails out with the following:
    
    05/21/2021 16:55:39      ANR2968E Database backup terminated.
    Db2 sqlcode: -2033. Db2 sqlerrmc: -50 . (SESSION: 26775,
    PROCESS: 672)
    
    05/21/2021 16:55:39      ANR3716E A request to the cloud
    service provider for the write object operation on the
    DB_CLOUD_CONNECTION connection or storage pool failed with the
    following HTTP status code: 400. (SESSION: 26775, PROCESS: 672)
    05/21/2021 16:55:39      ANR3795E Data from cloud volume or
    container 12345678901234567890.DBV, which is defined in the
    connection or storage pool DB_CLOUD_CONNECTION, could not be
    uploaded. (SESSION: 26775, PROCESS: 672)
    
    
    It has been determined that there is an issue with the buffer
    size needed for certain S3 regions.  The fix will address this
    and allow the cloud database backup to be successful to all
    regions.

    ap-northeast-3
    ap-southeast-1
    ap-southeast-2
    
    Spectrum Protect Versions Affected: All Spectrum Protect server
    versions 8.1.10.0 and higher

Local fix

  • Update the connection used for the database backup to one of the
    following regions:
    us-west-1
    us-west-2
    us-east-1
    us-east-2
    ap-south-1
    ca-central-1
    eu-central-1
    eu-west-1
    eu-west-2
    eu-west-3
    eu-north-1
    sa-east-1
