APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An attempt to join a 9.2 queue manager to a cluster reported the
    following errors:
    AMQ6047E: Conversion not supported.
    IBM MQ is unable to convert string data tagged in CCSID 1390 to
    data in CCSID 943.
    AMQ6174I: The dynamically loadable shared library
    '/var/mqm/exits64/MQADMIN_r' could not be loaded.
    AMQ9434E: Unrecognized message on SYSTEM.CLUSTER.COMMAND.QUEUE
    The conversion from 1390 to 943 was failed, even though it is
    supported officially.
    The same issue also occurs with message conversion of string
    data from 1399 to 943
    This issue has occurred since MQ v9 because the ccsid_part2.tbl
    file replaces the existing ccsid.tbl file.

Local fix

  •  by manually adding the comment tag "#" to the start of the
    target entry in ccsid_part.tbl file
    For example:
    # 1390  1390    1390     1390     3    1     0    IBM-1390

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    Users on Linux using CCSID 943 to convert from a z/OS queue
    manager using CCSID 1390 or 1399
    Platforms affected:
    Linux on x86, Linux on x86-64
    An erroneous definition in the default ccsid_part2.tbl caused
    the conversion to return <span style="background-color:rgb(255,
    255, 255)">AMQ6047: CONVERSION NOT SUPPORTED</span>

Problem conclusion

  • Updated the default ccsid_part2.tbl on linux to allow this
    The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs:
    Version    Maintenance Level
    v9.1 LTS
    v9.2 LTS
    v9.x CD    9.3.0
    The latest available maintenance can be obtained from
    'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes'
    If the maintenance level is not yet available information on
    its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ
    Planned Maintenance Release Dates'
