Error description

  • Attempting to open a Support Ticket to a Storage Device from
    Storage Insights results in the following:
    Storage Insights UI
    -> Dashboard -> Select Device -> Open Ticket
    
    -Error after
    submission:
    Create Ticket for <Storage Device Name>
    An
    unexpected error occurred during the execution of the
    action.
    Done
    
    -Embedded Error:
    ? Date_Time
    tcks-ticket_number-txpdn tcks error FaultDetail[0] =
    com.ibm.iepd.exception.ValidateException: Invalid object :
    [Subject]. Reason:[IBM serial [Device UUID] does not result in
    a 7 character serial number id]
    

Local fix

  • Open Ticket outside of Storage Insights regarding the Storage
    Device.
