Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of MQ appliance with Link Aggregation Interface(s) configured who have applied the fix for the APAR IT33213 APAR IT33213 shipped in the 9.2.0.2 appliance firmware level. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The APAR IT33213 added a new property to control how Ethernet interface responds to LLDP packets i.e. whether the NIC responds to LLDP packets or the NIC offloads responses to LLDP packets to the operating system. The property names did not reflect the functionality and hence needed changes in the property names.
Problem conclusion
The names of LLDP properties added by IT33213 have been changed as shown below. Old property names and values: On CLI - link-layer-discovery-protocol (from config; ethernet [interface]) On WebUI - Link Layer Discovery Protocol (from the interface's advanced settings section) Set the NIC to respond to LLDP packets. link-layer-discovery-protocol off / "Link Layer Discovery Protocol" off (checkbox) Set the NIC to offload the response to LLDP packets to the operating system. link-layer-discovery-protocol on / "Link Layer Discovery Protocol" on (checkbox) Default value on Old property names and values: On CLI - lldp-hardware-offload (from config; ethernet [interface]) On WebUI - Offload LLDP to hardware (from the interface's advanced settings section) Set the NIC to respond to LLDP packets. lldp-hardware-offload on / "Offload LLDP to hardware" on (checkbox) Set the NIC to offload the response to LLDP packets to the operating system. lldp-hardware-offload off / "Offload LLDP to hardware" off (checkbox) Default value off Users who have previously set the property via the CLI or web GUI should re-set the property using its new name with appropriate value after applying a firmware update containing this fix. If using configuration scripts, these should be updated to reference the new property name with appropriate value. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v9.1 LTS 9.1.0.8 v9.2 LTS 9.2.0.3 v9.x CD 9.2.3 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
