The above HTTPS error will be generated when the Windows host
has incorrect/inconsistent SSL/TLS settings preventing HTTPS
connection with the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Host.
The 'Test connection' wizard in the GUI used to validate
connectivity might report HTTPS is working while it is not
because it is incorrectly using different libraries.
The documentation should also clarify the SSL/TLS requirements.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected:
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.3 and higher

    Initial Impact: Medium

Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, TS004835168, logs

Local fix

  • Check HTTPS connectivity is valid by attempting to reach the IBM
Spectrum Protect Plus GUI with a supported browser from within
    the affected guest.
