APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A SIGSEGV is reported when a file is downloaded using WEBUI or
    REST API.
    The backtraces generated at the time of the reload shows the
    following:
    
    
    Died from signal 11 (SEGV)
    Reason Hint: [Crash! Perhaps a bad ptr?]
    Referencing 0x00007f93c57fb000 at 0x2b2b075 in
    dpStreamBase64EncodeFast::base64EncodeBlock(char*, int, char**)
    + 0x105
    Component=xmlfirewall, Domain=default, Config=map
    Action=1, ActionName=map-match_90_304
    

Local fix

  • As a workaround, users could consider using cli based
    options (copy command) for file download.
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    All MQ Appliance user using Web UI or REST API to download MQ
    logs.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    WebUI and REST API can be used to download MQ logs, however,
    this had the potential to cause the MQ Appliance to reload due
    to a buffer overflow issue that caused the SIGSEGV error visible
    in the diagnostics.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ Appliance code has been modified fix the SIGSEGV error
    that caused the Appliance reload.
