Error description

  • APAR IT32052 (first included in 9.1.0.6 LTS, 9.2.0.0 LTS and
9.2.0 CD) added some data validity checks within the queue
    manager.

These checks can write failure data capture (FDC) records with
probes ZF089191 or ZF177092 if the MQ code detects an internal
authority record believed to be incorrect.

It has now been found that a queue manager that was migrated
from a code level before MQ 7.1 (perhaps in the distant past)
can have records relating to "rqmname" authorization that cause
    this validity check to fail.

After applying IBM MQ 9.1.0.6 or 9.2.0 to a queue manager, FDC
records might be written with probe ZF089191 on each queue
manager start if the queue manager was previously migrated from
an earlier IBM MQ version. Also, an FDC record with probe
ZF177092 might be seen each time the authentication records are
displayed - for example, with dmpmqaut. However, the presence of
these records is not harmful to the queue manager, and should
not be considered an unexpected condition.

Local fix

  • Disregard the failure data capture (FDC) records with probes
    ZF089191 or ZF177092.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users who have migrated a queue manager created at a code level
before 7.1, and see these FDC records being written in
/var/mqm/errors now that they have installed IBM 9.1.0.6 LTS, or
    9.2.0.0 (or later).

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The FDCs were not necessary, as no user or administrative action
    was required.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ product code has been changed so that these FDCs
    cease to be written.
