IT35624: IBM MQ v9.0 LTS on HP/UX: A memory leak can occur in the amqrmppa process when TLS communication is used

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• For each TLS connection, a small amount of memory is not
  released.
  
  If there are a large number of connections/disconnections, the
  memory usage of the amqrmppa process can increase rapidly.
  
  Using the "strings" shell command on a core file taken from the
  amqrmppa process may show many occurrences of the string
  "extended master secret".
  

Local fix

• Manually upgrade the GSKit installation that IBM MQ uses to
  version 8.0.55.20 or higher.

  A problem in the HP-UX GSKit libraries that IBM MQ uses caused
  memory to be leaked each time an IBM MQ TLS connection was made.
  

Problem conclusion

• The GSKit issue was fixed at version 8.0.55.20 of the GSKit
  libraries.
  
  APAR IT38060 updated 9.0 LTS to use GSKit 8.0.55.24.
