  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After a timeout error, the SAP Adapter tries to reconnect using
    an uppercase password. After the retries have been exhausted
    the user account is locked in SAP.

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All Users of IBM Integration Bus v10.0 and App Connect
    Enterprise V11.0 using SAP Nodes with JCO API 3.1 libraries
    
    
    Platforms affected:

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A change in error codes between JCO Library versions 3.0 and 3.1
    meant that a specific API call meant that logic to automatically
    attempt to use an upper case version of the password was
    incorrectly executed. On SAP systems with cases sensitive
    passwords this can result in the user account being locked out.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Since the option to automatically use an upper case version of
    the password is purely historical and no currently supported
    version of SAP are configured by default with case insensitive
    passwords IBM Integration Bus v10.0 and App Connect Enterprise
    V11.0 SAP Adapter will no longer attempt to use an upper case
    version of the password by default.
    
    Users who wish to re-enable this functionality can do so by  by
    setting environment variable MQSI_ENABLE_JCO_PASSWORD_UPPERCASE.
