APAR status

Error description

  • Attempting to log into Storage Insights, any customers who
    have non-ASCII characters in any field associated with their
    IBMID profile (for example first name, last name, etc), will
    experience a failure to log into Storage Insights, and they
    will see the following message in their browser:
    
    responseText:
    "TypeError [ERR_INVALID_CHAR]: Invalid character in header
    con"
    
    Along with a status: 500
    The non-ASCII character can be in any field, not limited to just
    
    in their provided email address field.

Local fix

  • Editing the IBMID profile on ibm.com to eliminate any
    non-ASCII character from the user's first name,
    last name, or other fields, is a valid temporary
    workaround
