Error description

  • The error "AMQ6150: IBM MQ semaphore is busy" in
    the error logs states a timeout of 0 minutes:

    AMQ6150: IBM MQ semaphore is busy.
    
    EXPLANATION:
    IBM MQ was unable to acquire a semaphore within the normal
    timeout period of 0 minutes.
    
    The "of 0 minutes" at the end of the sentence does not provide
    any value to debugging the actual problem of the semaphore
    being locked by another process.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Due to the asynchronous reporting of errors within
    performance-sensitive sections of MQ code, the length of the
    timeout incurred is not accessible when the AMQ6150 message is
    generated. As such, the timeout value is treated as zero, and
    should not have been included in the message text.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The error reporting code has been updated to prevent the
    inclusion of the misleading "0 minutes" statement.
