Error description
A series of operations starting with the definition of a RUNSTATS profile with the "ON KEY COLUMNS" option on a column-organized table with no indexes (or primary keys or unique constraints) can sometimes lead to the following SQL0901 failure later when the table is referenced in queries or utilities: SQL0901N The SQL statement or command failed because of a database system error. (Reason "Packed descriptor corruption found. Please run RUNSTATS on this table".) SQLSTATE=58004 Unfortunately running RUNSTATS on the table as the message instructs does not resolve this particular problem.
Local fix
Contact Db2 Support for a service utility and instructions to fix the packed descriptor; do not use "RUNSTATS ON KEY COLUMNS SET PROFILE" on a column-organized table with no indexes, primary keys or unique constraints.
