Error description

  • PCOM 14.0.1 64-bit + IT32943

In the ISPF EDIT or BROWSE, hover over the DBCS and use the
PF7 or PF8 keys to scroll through the screen. As a result,
    an IKT00405I message is output.

In EDIT, set the scroll to 'CSR'. Place the cursor hover over
DBCS with the character string of DBCS SBCS and scroll with
the PF8 key. As a result, an IKT00405I message is output.

This happens in some Japanese panels of the host S/W, IWS
(IBM z Workload Scheduler). Copy the DBCS displayed on that
panel, do not paste it, and fall out the screen with the PF3
key. As a result, an IKT00405I message is printed. This
problem occurs when you select the copy source DBCS with
Shift + arrow keys. If you select this DBCS by dragging it
with the mouse, there is no problem.

When the customer selected some option and pressed Enter in
DBCS menu, he got the zOS error IKT00405I SCREEN ERASURE
CAUSED BY ERROR RECOVERY PROCEDURE, next, Pcom Popup Window
error PCS3001E. This pop-up window was garbage text.

Local fix

  • Add the following to ws file.
    [LT]
    IgnoreProgError=Y

In case the customer used the English SBCS meneu, this
    problem does not occur.

    ****************************************************************
Character scanning logic was implemented with the help of
assembly language in PCOMM 32-bit. The same has been implemented
with the help of C++ function which was failing to scan the
character from right to left in PCOMM 64-bit.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes have been made in PCSTQ.DLL module to make use of
newly created function to scan the characters from right to left
    from the memory block.

Temporary fix
