APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The AMQ3904 heartbeat messages (example below) are not reported
when the network connection between the system is broken.

AMQ3904E: HA heartbeat connection to secondary appliance 'app1'
using interface 'eth13' is unavailable

All users using IBM MQ Appliance for HA.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The  health of the cluster components reports messages
periodically to the MQSystem.log which is useful to determine
the health of the HA cluster.  However, a defect in the
monitoring logic meant that these messages may stop being
reported.

HA operations were not affected by the absence of the message.

  • The MQ appliance monitoring component has been updated to
address the lack of AMQ3904E messages
