Error description

  • If a message flow thread processing a message received through
    an HTTP Input node is terminated without sending an HTTP reply
    from the same thread, and the message being processed this way
    times out, the HTTP Input node may fail to correctly recall the
    HTTP message stored earlier for use during the timeout,
    potentially leading to unexplained CPU activity inhibiting
    shutdown and correct timeout processing.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    In ACE V11, HTTPInput node may fail to correctly recall the
    HTTP message for timeout processing, potentially leading to
    unexplained CPU activity inhibiting shutdown and correct time
    out processing.

    Thread stack taken at time of failure will show below calls in
    the stack:

    <p>ImbStringBase::assignInternal</p><p>Imb::EvHtp::request::getO
    riginalMsgAsBlob</p><p>ImbWSInputNode::MessageLoopContext::handl
    eSingleMessage</p><p>ImbWSInputNode::readQueue

    Note: This APAR (<span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255,
    255);color:rgb(34, 34, 34)">IT33442) </span>is a continuation of
    APAR IT32695, as IT32695 doesn't entirely resolve the problem.
    So the customers who encounter the above issue will have to
    apply both IT32695 and IT33442 to get the issue resolved.</p>

Problem conclusion

  • The product no longer fails and causes a hang when http timeout
    occurs. This APAR(<span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255,
    255);color:rgb(34, 34, 34)">IT33442) together with </span><span
    style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">IT32695 </span>
    resolves the problem.
