APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A JsonSyntaxException error may occur when using the
    TADataCollector tool against a BAR file that is not
    independently deployable. The TADataCollector tool can only be
    run against a complete BAR file that contains all the necessary
    components to deploy, but not necessarily start, the
    applications and message flows therein.
    
    This error occurs
    because the TADataCollector tool is not correctly detecting
    this error and so attempts to parse a JSON error message as a
    JSON success message.
    

Local fix

  • Ensure that any BAR file to be analysed by TADataCollector can
    be deployed successfully independent of any other BAR files.
    This can be tested by attempting to deploy the BAR file to an
    empty IntegrationServer.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When the Transformation Advisor is given a BAR file to analyse
    which does not contain all the necessary artifacts needed to
    deploy the contained resources, such as missing shared
    libraries, the data collector tool will fail with a
    JsonSyntaxException.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Transformation Advisor data collector tool will now fail
    with an appropriate error message informing users that a
    complete BAR file must be deployed.
