IT33237: "A PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE CARRYING OUT THE REQUESTED OPERATION" HTTP 500 ERROR ON SQL RESTORE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A Spectrum Protect Plus GUI pop-up error message will report
  and error message "A problem occurred while carrying out the
  requested operation" upon a restore attempt for a Microsoft SQL
  database.
  This happens when Spectrum Protect Plus queries the
  available data in the catalog to present what to restore from
  to the GUI user.
  It was found to be dependent of the
  permissions given to the Spectrum Protect Plus GUI user
  registered to access the application server.
  If the user
  permission in the Spectrum Protect GUI is set as follows :
  
  "Application SQL -> All"
  the restore completes successfully
  If
  it set to :
   "Application SQL -> Instances of tenant"
  the
  restore fails.
