Error description

  • Every time the queue manager is restarted a failure data capture
(FDC) record similar to the following is generated :-

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the IBM MQ resource monitoring feature, who have
subscriptions defined on one or more of the system monitoring
    topics, for example:

    $SYS/MQ/INFO/QMGR/<QMName>/Monitor/CPU/QMgrSummary

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A shared memory set that is needed by the resource monitoring
feature was not created sufficiently early in queue manager
startup processing, and an attempt was made to access it prior
to its creation when resuming subscriptions on the resource
monitoring topics. This resulted in the generation of the FDC
    record above.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ queue manager startup logic has been corrected so that
the required shared memory set is created before it is required.
