Error description

  • There are a number of issues with the event log file:
    
    1) The IntegrationServer cannot open an existing event log file
    if it is more than 2GB in size. This can prevent an
    IntegrationServer from starting up correctly with a BIP2113
    error:
    
    $ IntegrationServer -w MyServer
    ..Error initializing event log file:
    BIP2113E: IBM App Connect Enterprise internal error: diagnostic
    information ''File exists'', '17',
    ''/tmp/MyServer/log/integration_server.goldfinch.events.txt''.
    
    2) The default server.conf.yaml has a commented out entry for
    the eventLog property of "" which is not the default value,
    which is
    "[iib.system-work-dir]/log/[iib.system-node-label].[iib.system-s
    erver-label].events.txt".
    
    3) The event log files should rotate to a new file when the
    current file reaches a size of 10MB, however they currently
    rotate only when they hit a size of 10TB.
    

Local fix

  • To disable the event log uncomment the eventLog property from
    the server.conf.yaml file and ensure that it is set to the
    empty string value ""
    

Problem summary

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

Problem conclusion

  • 1) The internal file handling code has been corrected to
    correctly support files larger than 2GB.
    
    2) The default server.conf.yaml file has been updated to
    correctly reflect the correct default value. To disable the
    event log, set this value to "".
    
    3) The default file size for event log files has been reduced
    from 10TB to 10MB. This is now configurable via the
    eventLogFileSize server.conf.yaml property which is in units of
    MB (1,048,576 bytes). Additionally the maximum number of files
    that the event log should rotate between is now configurable via
    the server.conf.yaml property eventLogFileCount, which has a
    default value of 10.
