IT30881: ANR0103E SDREFCOUNT.C ERROR 2343 IN TABLE SD.CHUNK.LOCATIONS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The actlog reports many ANR0162W and ANR0103E messages with
  error 2343 for table SD.Chunk.Locations.  The messages are due
  to reaching the internal maximum value allowed for the REFCOUNT
  column.
  
  Example messages:
  ANR0162W Supplemental database diagnostic information:
   -1:22003:-802 ([IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/LINUXX8664] SQL0802N
  Arithmetic overflow or other arithmetic exception
   occurred.  SQLSTATE=22003).
  ANR0103E sdrefcount.c(576): Error 2343 updating row in
  table "SD.Chunk.Locations".
  
  Also can be seen in dsmffdc.log:
  
  [ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]: (sdcreate.c:1722) Exiting with
  bad rc=1114 for bfId xxxxxxxxx.
  [ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]: (sdcreate.c:1722) Exiting with
  bad rc=1114 for bfId yyyyyyyyy.
  
  APAR IT19597 fixed in 7.1.8 and 8.1.2 addressed this same error
  but did not fix all possible causes.
  
  This APAR will address other causes of the error condition:
  
  a.) A target server, receiving data via replicate node, can
  report the messages, as it does not manage correctly the
  reference counts that will prevent the overflow of the
  SD.Chunk.Locations column.
  b.) During server client data ingestion the reference count can
  overflow
  
  Initial Impact: Medium

  Server  7.1.8.x and higher and 8.1.2.x and higher, on all
  supported platforms
