APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A 'C' client application connected to a queue manager providing
an MQSCO structure with a non-null AuthInfoRecPtr field, a value
of zero was supplied for the AuthInfoRecCount field. When the
application disconnected a failure data capture (FDC) record
with probe XC130031 was produced indicating a segmentation
    violation had occurred.

Local fix

  • Code application to provide a NULL AuthInfoRecPtr.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Any native applications that provide MQSCO SSL configuration
options programmatically via MQCONNX are potentially affected.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A client application connected using custom SSL configuration
options provided via an MQSCO structure, when the application
disconnected from the queue manager a segmentation violation
occurred in the MQDISC call, an FFST with a probe id of XC130031
    was produced.

Problem conclusion

  • In processing of a client application disconnect, various
resources are freed, this includes memory used to retain a copy
of the optional MQSCO and MQAIR values provided by an
application. The IBM MQ KnowledgeCenter states that the
AuthInfoRecPtr field of the MQSCO is ignored if the
AuthInfoRecCount is zero - this does not occur and can cause a
segmentation violation and FFST during application disconnect.

The logic used to cleanup MQAIR resources during application
disconnect is corrected to use the value of AuthInfoRecCount.
