APAR status

Error description

  • The insert to the AMQ9785 message, which should contain the
destination queue manager and queue name, was truncated to 48
characters.

Problem summary

USERS AFFECTED:
MQ users who have long queue manager and/or queue names.


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic error meant that the insert text was incorrectly
truncated prior to being added to the message.

Problem conclusion

  • The dead-letter queue logging code has been changed so that
these names
are no longer truncated even with names of the largest allowed
length of 48
characters for both the queue manager and the queue.
