APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The UDP which is set as empty in the subflow level gets
overridden with mqsiapplybaroverride successfully but ignored
    at runtime.

The overridden value of UDP set on the subflow flow is not
    picked up and gets ignored.

    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s):

Local fix

  • To set the UDP value to something rather then keeping it empty
    at subflow level

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of App Connect Enterprise version 11 using
bar-file-overrides on UDP properties set on subflows.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a bar file override is used to change the value of a User
Defined Property (UDP) on a subflow, the file representing the
subflow within the bar file is not modified but the updated
value is stored within the deploy descriptor file (broker.xml)
within the bar file. When the bar file is deployed and the
runtime reads the contents of the subflow files, 'links' are
created within the runtime from the UDP's on the subflow to the
values in the deploy descriptor. However when the default value
for UDP on the subflow was blank, the required links from the
deploy descriptor to the subflow were not created meaning the
bar file override for the UDP had no effect.

Problem conclusion

  • The algorithm responsible for creating UDP links when a subflow
instance is created was updated to create links even when the
    UDP had no default value.
