IT29678: SFTP SERVER SENDING OBFUSCATED FILE PERMISSIONS FAILS TO READ FILES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Some SFTP servers can obfuscate file permissions for security
  reasons.  If this occurs, an error can occur which prevents IIB
  from reading the file.  The error is seen in a service trace:
  RemoteService.parseUnixString 'Error parsing unix string from
  remote SFTP server'
  The permissions are read as part of IIB filtering the files
  based on the file name pattern property and sorting by oldest
  first.
  

Local fix

• Disable obfuscated permissions on the SFT server
  

Problem summary

  All users of IBM Integration Bus version 10 or App Connect
  Enterprise version 11 using the FileInput or FileRead Nodes to
  connect to a remote SFTP server.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">Some SFTP
  servers can obfuscate file permissions for security reasons. If
  this occurs, an error can occur which prevents the File Node
  from parsing the directory listing returned by the remote SFTP
  server. This prevents the transmission of any files in this
  directory.
  
  The following error is seen in a service trace:
  
  RemoveService.parseUnixString 'Error parsing unix string from
  remote SFTP server'</span>
  

Problem conclusion

• The File Nodes will now correctly parse a directory listing
  containing obfusticated file access permissions.
