IT29568: DEFAULT REPORTS ARE FAILING DUE TO RESULTS OF FIELDS BEING EMPTY OR NULL

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus reports VM_Backup_History_n_Day
    and Database_Backup_History_n_Day are delivered as blank
      reports due to a field being empty or null. These reports
      are default reports provided with IBM Spectrum Protect
      Plus and can be found in the UI by navigating to:
    
        Reports and Logs->Reports
    
      Next you would open the topic called "Protection" and the
      two reports being referenced in this APAR are "VM Backup
      History" and "Database Backup History"
    
      The messages found in the joblog are as follows:
    
        ERROR,...,Cannot fetch the next data row.
        WARN,...,Invalid boolean expression:
          if(row["TOTAL_COLUMN_0"]<1)
    
        Invalid field name: id. (/report/data-sets/oda-data-set

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus has been updated to correct the
    problem. The condition the code causing errors were fixed for
    Database Backup History report and some handling was added to
    check for JSON parsing for null entries which was most likely
    causing the VM Backup History report to come out blank.
