IT28717: ANS2250W IS DISPLAYED FOR A FILE WHICH IS NOT A REAL CORE DUMP

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect client can display a ANS2250W warning for a
  file which is not a real core dump.
  
  For example, if a backup is initiated where an IBM Spectrum
  Scale python script called
  "/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/core.snap.py" exists, the client will report:
  
  ANS2250W A IBM Spectrum Protect core file or crash report was
  found: /usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/core.snap.py

Problem conclusion

• IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client does a simple check
  during startup to verify there is no core dump files present in
  the current working directory. This is done in order to identify
  possibly related Spectrum-Protect crashes. The check is done by
  simple pattern matching.
  In some cases, there can be false alarms, due to presence of
  non-core files, which match the same pattern, e.g. core.snap.py,
  which is a part of GPFS distribution.
  Customer may find these false warning messages annoying, as they
  distract from real potential issues. To avoid these false
  alarms, the core selection algorithm was improved to 1) better
  filter out the unwanted files (using more precise search pattern
  core.[0-9]+) and give the customer an ability to exclude certain
  files using testflag EXCLUDECOREPATTERN.
