Error description

  • A Failure Data Capture (FDC) record can be created with the
following information when running an MQ command, for example
    "dspmqver", for a CCSID error.

The reported FDC does not provide adequate information about the
CCSID error to be useful. The MQ command fails because the CCSID
is not mapped correctly, but this is not apparent in the
following example FDC. In the displayed example, the un-mapped
    CCSID is 65001 (x'FDE9').

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When MQ is not able to find a specific CCSID, it generates an
FDC. This FDC is not informative enough to understand the cause
    of the generated FDC.

Problem conclusion

  • MQ code has been modified to add more information to this FDC,
including the CCSID type, to make it more informative.
