APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Issuing ctrl+c during the entry of a password for runmqsc,
    dmpmqcfg, dspmqrte, runmqtrm or runmqtrmc suppresses normal echo
    of the standard input stream. This appears to have the same
    effect as stty -echo.
    

Local fix

  • Avoid issuing ctrl+c, or reset terminal settings using the
    following Unix commands at a shell prompt:
      stty sane
      stty echo

    Users issuing ctrl+c when entering a password to runmqsc,
    dmpmqcfg, dspmqrte, runmqtrm or runmqtrmc, via a terminal are
    affected.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    AIX, HP-UX Itanium, HP-UX PA-RISC, IBM iSeries, Linux on Power,
    Linux on S390, Linux on x86, Linux on x86-64, Linux on zSeries,
    Solaris SPARC, Solaris x86-64

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Asynchronous interrupt signals prevent the terminal settings
    being restored.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A code change ensure that terminal settings are restored.
