IT27870: SPECTRUM PROTECT CLIENT DOES NOT ADD SMBFS FILESYSTEM INTO DOMAIN LIST ON APPLE MACINTOSH PLATFORM

Error description

• Error Description:
  Apple Macintosh client backs up SMB share file systems under the
  / filesystem and not the SMB share filesystem.
  A seperate file space is not created for the SMB share.
  The data is backed up, but under the / file space
  
  Example:
  Filesystem /Volumes/fs1 is a mount point for smfs file system.
  
  Backup using  "incr /Volumes/fs1"
  
  On the Spectrum Protect server all the objects from this
  filesystem will be stored under the Filespace "/", but not under
  the Filespace "/Volumes/fs1" corresponding to the network share.
  
  IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected:
  Client 7.1.x and 8.1.x on Apple Macintosh platform
  
  Initial Impact: Medium

Problem conclusion

• Backups that were performed before the release of 8.1.8 IBM
  Spectrum Protect backup-archive client should be renamed on
  backup-archive  server by using following command: rename file
  space <node name> <old name of file system> <new name of file
  system>
