IT27445: AUTOMATIC DEPLOYMENT OF BACKUP-ARCHIVE CLIENT VERSION 8.1.6.X REQUIRES MICROSOFT VC++ 2013

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The automatic client deployment of backup-archive client version
  8.1.6.x for Windows OS, using Operations Center, may fail
  showing the following message in the client error log:
  
  ANS0361I DIAG: ..\..\common\winnt\psskit.cpp( 290):
  LoadGSKitLibrary(): Error 126 loading GSKIT Library
  '.\gsk8km_64.dll' .
  
  The problem occurs even if the GSKIT library is present on the
  system.
  
  
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  Problem is caused by missing MSCVP120.dll on the Windows OS
  system.
  The latest GSKit libraries are now built with VS2013. The
  install package should include corresponding runtime libraries
  but it's not.

  IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client 8.1.6.x on supported

Local fix

• The automatic client deployment of  backup-archive client
  updates for Windows OS, using Operations Center, requires, as
  prerequisite the  installation of Microsoft VC++ 2013.
  Installing this will help to bypass the problem.

Problem conclusion

• The problem is that the latest GSKit libraries are built with
  VS2013. The autodeploy code has been fixed so now the push
  package includes corresponding runtime libraries.
