Error description

  • An Application which includes multiple static Libraries
containing more than one identical copy of a schema file, in the
exact same file path relative the Application or static Library,
can be developed and added to a BAR file in the Toolkit, with no
errors, although there will be warnings like:

Global element '<element name>' exists more than once within
    the Application '<name>'. Exists in: '<path1>', '<path2>'.

However on deployment of the BAR file to the ACE runtime the
Application will fail to start reporting an error of the form:

BIP5024E: The creation and preprocessing of the XML schemas
    has failed.
       BIP4395E: Java exception:
    'org.apache.xerces.xni.XNIException'
BIP1096E: The source '<BAR>' has been deployed but there were
one or more failures which may mean the deployed resources will
    be unable to execute

Local fix

  • The issue can be avoid by removing the duplicated schema so that
only one copy exists in the Application and its included static
    Libraries.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An Application which includes multiple static libraries
containing more than one identical copy of a schema file, in the
exact same file path relative to the Application or static
library, can be developed and added to a BAR file in the
Toolkit, with no errors, although there will be warnings similar
    to:

Global element '<element name>' exists more than once within
    the Application '<name>'. Exists in: '<path1>', '<path2>'.

However on deployment of the BAR file to the ACE runtime the
Application will fail to start, reporting an error of the form:

BIP5024E: The creation and preprocessing of the XML schemas
    has failed.
       BIP4395E: Java exception:
    'org.apache.xerces.xni.XNIException'
BIP1096E: The source '<BAR>' has been deployed but there were
one or more failures which may mean the deployed resources will
    be unable to execute

Problem conclusion

  • The ACE runtime processing of deployed XML schema files in
static libraries included in an Application has been modified to
avoid duplication caused by identical copies of a schema file,
in the exact same file path relative to the Application or
    Libraries.
